Why help small business?

Small business is the engine room of employment in most developed and developing countries with more than 95% of all businesses employing less than 200 employees.  Many owners and operators of small businesses suffer from "not knowing what they don't know".  This is a primary reason why around 80% of businesses fail in their first two years.  Many of the business owners that survive take many more years than they really needed to be successful.  Many say if I had known what I know now, after 20 years in business", I could have been successful in only five years. The role of the Business Advisor Network is to help small business owners and operators realize what they need to know so they can grow their businesses and the number of employees, as quickly as they want rather than as quickly as they can.

How do we help small business owners and operators?

Business Advisor Network provides a multitude of support services for small business owners and operators and here are some of the recent examples:
  • subsidised, low cost or free seminars, workshops and training;
  • free visits to small businesses;
  • free diagnostic reviews to assess the challenges and needs of businesses;
  • books, audio and video content to help businesses grow;
  • programs, like our Business Growth Program, Leadership Development Program and People Power Program;
  • the Virtual Advisor blog with regular articles from experts about key growth actions for business;
  • development programs, tools and support to make consultants, advisor, coaches and mentors more effective with business owners.

Who has the expertise they need to make it happen?

There are a multitude of seriously experienced executives with many years of training and experience that have reached a time in their successful lives when they want to give something back to the business community.  These are the accredited advisors supported by the Business Advisor Network, who donate some time each month, to support the business community.  Many deliver seminars, workshops and training sessions to help pass on some of their enormous bank of corporate experience for the good of the business community.  Advisors are accredited by world recognized international organizations and provide direct support to business owners.
