How Prospects Trading Works

Who can load and trade prospects?

  • All pending listings are contacted and validated by a Group Administrator or a Site Administrator before publishing prospects onto the platform.
  • You must be upgraded to Affiliate, a Group Administrator or a Site Administrator to load prospects onto the platform.
  • Group administrators, from professional member based organisations and alumni, are responsible for the prospects to be listed exclusively to their own group members and manage the access of their own members to the Prospects Trading Platform.



What about confidentiality of the listed businesses contact information?

  • Only the winning bidder receives the contact details of the business prospect.
  • The Advisor loading the prospect must have permission of the owner of the information to load it to the Network. Typically this is a question like “Would you like me to find someone in my Network to discuss that issue with you?



Where do Prospects listed on the platform come from?

  • Advisors who identify issues with any business that they do not have the skills to address.
  • Advisors who have met a business owner, identified issues that the business owner wants to fix but for some reason were unable to engage with the owner to solve their issues.
  • Advisors who have met with a business owner but they located outside their preferred geographic range.
  • Business owners that need help and are looking for an expert to solve their business issues.



What happens at the end of the prospect trade?

  • When the Prospect Opportunity closes the highest bidder is allocated the contact details for the Prospect by email.  Any unused points balance above their final winning bid is unfrozen and returned to their points account.
  • The buyer should contact the Prospect as soon as practical within 24 hours and make time for an appointment.
  • Remember the Prospect has been already waiting for one day, during the trade, for an Advisor to be allocated.  The buyer is sent an email asking that they provide feedback within 24 hours to the seller (see Feedback below for more details).



No Loss Points Guarantee for all traders

  • When the trade closes the points are held in escrow pending the buyers feedback to the seller about the accuracy of the prospect information for 24-48 hours only.  Sellers have a rating based on the quality of the feedback from their fellow Registered Affiliates.
  • Since all Advisors have different capacities in engaging clients, our Guarantee is that the information is a reasonable description of the Prospect opportunity and it is not a guarantee that any Advisor will gain work.
  • We can create the opportunity but we cannot be certain of your ability to engage new clients.
  • If client engagement is something that you need assistance with then watch out for some of our training webinars on the Events page.
  • Some consulting tools available on the Advisor Portal to Affiliate level advisors can significantly increase client engagement rates.



Feedback process to give you confidence about the quality of listed Prospects

  • Feedback is an important element of the prospect process.
  • Affiliates with a higher feedback score will be more reliable sources of prospects and are likely to gain a higher points value for their prospects. Feedback relates only to the accuracy of the description of the listed prospect opportunity.
  • Feedback is not a place for you to express your frustrations for not immediately converting the opportunity into revenue.

  • Some consulting tools available on the Advisor Portal to Affiliate level advisors can significantly increase client engagement rates.
  • Many connections with potential clients take some time to develop and this process is about encouraging users that list prospects for trading to keep them accurate and factual. The person who listed the prospect will have the feedback recorded against their profile as an overall score.
